The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a clarification regarding its role in NYSC mobilization. The Board emphasized it has no involvement in mobilizing ND Part-time and HND graduates for the National Youth Service Corps.

JAMB’s Statement

In a statement released via their official X (formerly Twitter) account (@JAMBHQ), the Board clarified:

“JAMB plays no role at stalling your NYSC mobilisation. For the record, JAMB has no hand in admissions into HND programmes.”

What JAMB Handles

JAMB’s responsibilities are limited to:

  • Full-time ND admissions only - The Board handles admissions into National Diploma full-time programmes
  • University admissions - UTME and Direct Entry into degree programmes
  • Polytechnic/College of Education ND admissions - Full-time programmes only

What JAMB Does NOT Handle

The Board has no involvement in:

  • HND (Higher National Diploma) admissions - Both full-time and part-time
  • ND Part-time admissions - These are handled directly by institutions
  • NYSC mobilization - This is managed by NYSC and individual institutions

What This Means for Affected Graduates

If you’re experiencing NYSC mobilization delays as an ND Part-time or HND graduate:

  1. Don’t contact JAMB - They cannot help with this issue
  2. Contact your institution - Speak with your school’s NYSC desk officer
  3. Reach out to NYSC directly - Visit the NYSC portal or contact their office
  4. Verify your records - Ensure all academic records are properly submitted

Why This Clarification Matters

Many graduates have been directing complaints to JAMB about NYSC mobilization issues. This clarification helps graduates understand the right channels for addressing their concerns, saving time and ensuring faster resolution.

Taking Action

If your NYSC mobilization is delayed:

  1. Confirm your institution has uploaded your records
  2. Check the NYSC portal for your status
  3. Visit your school’s academic office for verification
  4. Contact NYSC directly if issues persist

Understanding which body handles what will help you navigate the process more efficiently.
