The Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Abia State, Prof Francis Otunta has been accused of impregnating a 300l Accounting student. According to the petition that was written by a member of the University’s Governing Council, Dr. Nelson O’Amanze Udenze, the VC allegedly impregnated the student in 2017 and upgraded the student from 300l to final year without any examination or assessments. The student reportedly graduated and was sent abroad by the VC to conceal the event.
After further investigations, it was revealed that the VC allegedly embezzled funds meant for some staff of the institution. However, an investigation is still going on as the Ministry of Education has reportedly set up a panel to look into the allegations.
