AKTH College of Nursing Sciences Post-Basic Admission 2026/2027: Critical Care, Nephrology & More

The Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) College of Nursing Sciences has opened admission into its post-basic nursing programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. Registered nurses looking to advance their careers through specialized training can now apply.

Available Programmes

AKTH is offering admission into the following two-semester post-basic programmes:

• Critical Care Nursing
• Nephrology Nursing
• Paediatric Nursing
• Perioperative Nursing

Admission Requirements

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current practising licence
• Minimum of five (5) O'Level credit passes in not more than two sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry
• Accepted examinations: GCE, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS
• NABTEB and NBAIS results cannot be combined with NECO/WAEC, but WAEC and NECO results may be combined
• At least one year of post-qualification experience, preferably in an acute care setting
