Akwa Ibom Polytechnic Bans Graduating Students' Sign-Out Celebrations

Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic management has officially prohibited graduating students from organizing sign-out celebrations, commonly known as "fan fair" events that mark their final days at the institution.

Reasons for the Ban

The polytechnic management cited two primary concerns for implementing this directive:

• Unacceptable Conduct: The management views these celebrations as activities that violate institutional rules and regulations
• Professional Attire Misuse: The administration has received complaints from various organizations regarding the misuse of their professional uniforms during these events

Scope of the Ban

The prohibition applies to all graduating students across the polytechnic. Any form of sign-out celebration activities organized by students is now strictly forbidden.

Consequences for Violation

According to the directive issued by Ibanga Nathaniel, Deputy Registrar and Officer-in-Charge of Students' Affairs, any student found contravening this ban will face severe disciplinary action in accordance with the Polytechnic's guidelines.

Graduating students are advised to focus on completing their academic requirements and preparing for their transition from the institution through approved channels.
