Electronic voting systems provide secure, efficient elections that reduce manual ballot complications. Students typically vote through online portals or dedicated voting apps using their unique codes.
E-voting offers several advantages: faster result tabulation, reduced paper waste, improved accessibility for students on different campuses, and transparent vote counting processes.
Importance of SUG Elections
Student Union Government representatives advocate for student interests with polytechnic administration. SUG leaders address concerns about facilities, welfare, academic policies, and campus life quality.
Participating in SUG elections exercises your democratic rights and influences who speaks for student interests throughout the academic year.
Strong student leadership can successfully lobby for improvements in accommodation, library resources, sports facilities, and academic support services.
Voting Responsibility
Research candidates and their platforms before the May 30 election. Effective SUG leadership requires more than popularity - look for candidates with clear plans and demonstrated commitment to student welfare.
Attend campaign events or debates if organized. Direct interaction with candidates helps you assess their capabilities and sincerity.
Vote based on merit rather than personal friendships or departmental loyalty. The SUG represents all students, so choose leaders who will serve the entire polytechnic community.
Code Collection Reminders
Attend during your designated day to avoid congestion on the spill-over day when all schools are accommodated simultaneously.
Ensure your fee payment is up to date before attempting code collection. Outstanding balances may prevent code issuance.
