Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has announced the sale of change of course forms for the 2025/2026 academic session. Students who wish to change their current course of study can apply from December 8, 2025, following specific eligibility requirements and procedures outlined by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics).

Form Sale Commencement Date

The change of course form will be available for purchase starting December 8, 2025. The form costs ₦10,000 (non-refundable) and must be paid at ATBU Microfinance Bank located at either Yelwa or Gubi Campus.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible for a change of course at ATBU, you must meet the following requirements:

Academic Requirements

  • CGPA between 0.25 and 1.80 (for most programmes)
  • Different CGPA requirements apply for Medical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine
  • Must have completed at least one semester with valid results
  • If you deferred second semester, you're exempt from providing second semester results

Administrative Requirements

  • Must obtain approval from your current department head
  • Must obtain approval from your intended (new) department head
  • Must have your original admission letter
  • Must have your second semester results (unless deferred)

Application Process

Follow these steps to apply for change of course:

Step 1: Get Departmental Approvals

  1. Visit your current department head to discuss and get approval for the change
  2. Visit the head of your intended (new) department to confirm acceptance
  3. Obtain written approval from both departments

Step 2: Visit DVC Academics Office

Go to the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) to:

  • Obtain detailed change of course information
  • Get the official change of course form
  • Receive guidance on the application process

Step 3: Pay Application Fee

Visit ATBU Microfinance Bank at either:

  • Yelwa Campus branch, or
  • Gubi Campus branch

Pay the ₦10,000 change of course fee and collect your Remita receipt and original bank receipt.

Step 4: Submit Application

Return to the DVC Academics Office with:

  • Completed change of course form
  • Remita receipt (attached)
  • Original payment receipt
  • Approval letters from both departments
  • Original admission letter
  • Second semester results (if applicable)

Important Notes

⚠️ Warning: The ₦10,000 application fee is non-refundable. Ensure you meet all eligibility requirements and have departmental approvals before making payment.

Special Programmes: Medical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine have different CGPA requirements. Contact the DVC Academics Office for specific requirements for these programmes.
