Applications are invited for admission into the full-time National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Health Information Management at the School of Health Information Management (SHIM), Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Admission Requirements
For National Diploma (ND)
- O'Level: Minimum of 5 credits in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB — including English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics — obtained in not more than two sittings. (Note: NABTEB results may only be combined with NABTEB.)
- UTME: Candidates must have sat for the 2026 UTME and obtained the programme cutoff point.
- JAMB subject combination: English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
For Higher National Diploma (HND)
- O'Level: Minimum of 5 credits in the core science subjects as listed for ND (in not more than two sittings).
- Academic qualification: Evidence of completion of ND in Health Information Management or Health Records Technician with at least a Lower Credit.
- Professional requirement: Current practising license.
- Work experience: Evidence of one (1) year mandatory Industrial Training (IT) from an accredited health institution (SIWES/IT).
- Special consideration: Candidates with a Pass (CGPA 2.00–2.49) at ND level with two or more years of relevant post-ND experience may be considered.
- Documentation: Evidence of JAMB admission letter used during ND admission will be required.
Duration & Structure
Both ND and HND programmes run for two academic sessions (four semesters) and include Students' Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) placement as part of the training.
Screening & Selection
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a screening test and interview at dates to be announced by the School. Ensure your contact details are correct when you apply and keep copies of all submitted documents.
How to Apply
- Obtain the online screening pin from the School Admission Office.
- Pay the screening pin fee via Remita. Fee structure:
- ND screening pin: Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00).
- HND screening pin: Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00).
- Complete the online screening form using the pin (follow the School Admission Office instructions).
- Print and keep payment receipts and a copy of your completed form for the screening exercise.
Note: Remita payments can be made through most bank internet banking platforms, bank branches that process Remita payments, or other Remita-enabled channels. Always keep the payment receipt and any confirmation number provided.
