BOSU 6th Matriculation Ceremony: April 9-10, 2025

Borno State University (BOSU) will hold its 6th Matriculation Ceremony and General Orientation for newly admitted students for the 2024/2025 academic session on April 9-10, 2025.

Dates: Wednesday, April 9 & Thursday, April 10, 2025
Time: 9:30 AM (students should be seated by 9:00 AM)
Venue: BOSU Premises, Jimtilo, Maiduguri

Who Should Attend

The matriculation ceremony is mandatory for all newly admitted students. This two-day event includes the formal matriculation ceremony and general orientation for new students.

The following are also expected to attend:

• Principal Officers
• Deans and Directors
• Heads of Department
• Heads of Unit
• All University Staff
• All Students

Matriculation and Orientation

Day 1 (April 9): Likely to cover the formal matriculation ceremony where you'll take the matriculation oath and officially become a BOSU student.

Day 2 (April 10): General orientation covering university rules, academic regulations, facilities, student services, and resources available to you.

What to Bring

• Student ID card or admission letter
• Writing materials for orientation sessions
• Academic gown (check with your faculty for collection)

Important Reminders

Arrive Early: Be seated by 9:00 AM. University ceremonies typically start on time.

Dress Appropriately: Wear formal attire. Males should wear dark trousers, white shirts, and ties. Females should wear formal skirts or dresses. Academic gowns will be worn over your formal wear.

Attendance is Mandatory: Missing matriculation may affect your studentship status. This ceremony makes you an official member of the BOSU community.

Two-Day Commitment: Plan to attend both days as they cover different aspects of your induction into the university.
