A total of fifty-five female students pursuing degree programmes in the Faculty of Communication of the Bayero University, Kano have received scholarship grant of fifty thousand naira each under the MacArthur Scholarship Grant secured by the Faculty.
In a letter signed by Professor Umaru A. Pate, the Chairman of the Faculty MacArthur Scholarship Grant Implementation Committee, a total sum of two million seven hundred and fifty thousand naira (N2.750,000,00) was paid to the students. He indicated that the beneficiaries were selected based on their academic performance and peculiar financial needs, as stipulated by the letter of the grant.
