BUK Issues New Rules for Tricycle Operations on New Campus
Bayero University Kano (BUK) has released new rules for tricycle (Keke) operations on the New Campus, effective January 9, 2026.
Key rules and fares
- Fare: ₦100 per trip from the Main Gate to any destination within campus.
- Passenger limits: Maximum of five (5) passengers per tricycle.
- Queue limit: Only five (5) TETFund tricycles may queue at Ramat Hall at a time.
- Minimum passengers from gate: At least three (3) passengers, except in emergencies.
- Drop trips: Allowed only when no passengers are available, or with a passenger’s consent for a shared ride.
- Operators must take students to any authorized campus destination and obey traffic/safety rules.
Student guidance
Students were warned against physical or verbal fights with operators. Complaints should be reported through official channels.
