Cardiff University International Scholarship Details and FAQs
The Cardiff University Country-Specific Undergraduate Scholarships is offered to international students who are nationals of Lebanon, Pakistan, Vietnam, Nigeria, Kenya, and the Philippines.
If you are a student from Lebanon, Pakistan, Vietnam, Nigeria, Kenya or the Philippines you will be eligible for additional funding, resulting in a final scholarship of £5,000.
As a national (as defined on your course application form) from Lebanon, Pakistan, Vietnam, Nigeria, Kenya or the Philippines you will automatically be awarded the additional funding as long as you meet the terms and conditions of the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship Scheme.

Undergraduate applicants – Conditional Offer Holders
• You must meet or exceed the requirements as stated exactly in your formal UCAS offer.
• You must confirm Cardiff University as your Firm choice by the UCAS deadline, and meet all offer conditions, including any English Language conditions, by 23rd August 2019.
• Applicants who do not meet the requirements of their formal UCAS offer will not be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, even if they are accepted into the University.
Undergraduate applicants – Unconditional Offer Holders
• If you are holding an Unconditional Offer, you must confirm Cardiff University as your Firm choice by your UCAS deadline.
Postgraduate Taught
Postgraduate Taught applicants – Conditional Offer Holders
• You must pay your deposit by the deadline stated in your original/first offer (if you are granted a deposit extension you must still pay by the original deadline to be eligible for the scholarship).
• You must accept your offer and meet all the offer conditions, including any English Language conditions as stated in your offer by 23rd August 2019.
• Applicants who do not meet the conditions of their offer will not be eligible for the Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship, even if they are accepted into the University.
Postgraduate Taught applicants – Unconditional Offer Holders
• If you are holding an Unconditional Offer, you must confirm this offer as a Firm choice.
• You must pay any deposit by the deadline in your original/first offer (if you are granted a deposit extension you must still pay by the original deadline to be eligible for the scholarship) and accept your offer by 23rd August 2019.
How many scholarship positions are available?
There are six scholarships available each academic year (one for each country).
What are the benefits?
Scholarship holders will receive a tuition fee reduction to the value of £5,000 for their degree at Cardiff University.
How long will the sponsorship last?
The scholarship is a one off payment.
