Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), formerly known as Anambra State University, has announced its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening for the 2025/2026 academic session. If you chose COOU in your JAMB application, here's everything you need to know.

Registration Period

Online registration runs from August 11th to September 18th, 2025. Don't wait until the last minute—portal congestion typically increases as the deadline approaches.

JAMB Cut-off Marks

COOU has set different cut-off marks based on program competitiveness:

  • General Programs: Minimum JAMB score of 150
  • Competitive Programs: Minimum JAMB score of 200 for:
    • Law
    • Medicine and Surgery
    • Nursing Science
    • Medical Laboratory Technology
    • Pharmaceutical Sciences

Who Can Apply

You're eligible if you:

  • Chose COOU as your first choice in 2025 JAMB UTME
  • Met the minimum JAMB score for your desired program
  • Will be at least 16 years old by September 30th, 2025
  • Have the required O'Level credits (5 credits including English and Mathematics in not more than two sittings)

Didn't choose COOU as first choice? You can still apply! Visit any JAMB CBT Centre to change your institution to COOU, then proceed with the Post-UTME registration.

How to Register

  1. Generate Invoice: Visit portal.coou.edu.ng and use your JAMB registration number to generate a payment invoice
  2. Pay Fee: Pay ₦2,000 processing fee through REMITA at any commercial bank or via online payment
  3. Access Portal: Return to the portal after payment confirmation
  4. Complete Form: Fill in your personal details, contact information, and program choice accurately
  5. Upload Documents: Upload your JAMB result slip and O'Level certificates to JAMB CAPS (each file must not exceed 50KB)
  6. Submit: Review all information before final submission and print your acknowledgement slip

Direct Entry Applicants

If you applied through JAMB Direct Entry with qualifications like OND, HND, first degree, or A-Level certificates in relevant disciplines:

  • Use the "2025/2026 Direct Entry Application" option on the prospective student panel
  • Ensure your qualifications are in subjects relevant to your chosen program
  • Follow the same registration and payment process as UTME candidates

Important Reminders

  • Age Requirement: You must be 16 years old by September 30th, 2025—no exceptions
  • Document Size: Compress your documents to 50KB or less before uploading to JAMB CAPS
  • Check Portal Regularly: Visit coou.edu.ng for screening dates and further announcements
  • Institution Change: If changing from another institution, complete the JAMB change of institution process first
