COOU Receives Full NUC Accreditation for Medicine, Nursing, and Multiple Programs

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University has secured full National Universities Commission accreditation for numerous programs including Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Sciences, and various postgraduate degrees.

The NUC communicated the accreditation results through an April 29, 2025 memorandum following evaluations conducted in October and November 2024.

Accredited Programs

The university's College of Medicine received full accreditation for its flagship Medicine and Surgery program, alongside Nursing Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, and Physiology.

Postgraduate programs also achieved full approval. The NUC accredited M.Sc. programs in Accounting and Public Administration, demonstrating COOU's strength beyond medical disciplines.

Teacher education programs in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Economics all received full accreditation, validating the university's education faculty quality.
