Cultist Jailed 20 Years for Raping a FUOYE Student

A twenty-four (24) year old Tayo Bakare has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for raping an undergraduate student of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), and her friend.

Tayo carried out the act on August 27, 2017, in the Ikotun area of Lagos, when he pretended to be a family friend of the victim and lured her to a hotel, where he raped her and also threatened to kill her.

He reportedly ordered his victim to remove her clothes, took her nude pictures with her phone, and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

He was sentenced by Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Lagos State Special Offences Court, on Monday, July 13, 2020, to 20 years imprisonment.
