It has come to the knowledge of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede’s management that students are being asked to pay the sum of Six Thousand Naira (6,000) only to enable them to access the institution’s e-learning platform.

This is therefore to inform the public, Polytechnic Community, and especially the entire students that the management of Federal Polytechnic Nekede has not and will never give such a directive.

Students can access the institution’s e-learning platform only when they have paid their 2019/2020 academic session school fees; as login credentials have been and/or will be generated for each student with a unique institutional e-mail and a default password.

Students should also note that we have developed several steps to guide students on the processes of the e-learning; and are hereby advised to go to the school’s official website (www.fpno.edu.ng) to access all useful guides/steps from the WhatsApp link and Quick links on the website.

Where a student encounters any challenge logging in, the ICT directorate is available to provide online support, using this phone number as the ICT contact – 08168339668.

Please all concerned should take note to avoid being swindled by unscrupulous elements.

Earlier: Fed Poly Nekede Notice on Commencement of Virtual Learning for Students

This is to inform all students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede (FPNO) that the virtual learning activities will commence on Monday, 7th September 2020. Note that students who have paid their school fees for the 2019/2020 academic session have been enrolled in the application and login credentials generated for each student with a unique institutional email and a default password.

Moreover, the ICT Directorate will issue student login details and user guide to each department and provide online support for students. Where in doubt or any difficulty call the ICT Acting Head on this number – 08033603234 for assistance.

All students who have not paid their school fees should endeavour to pay immediately to enable them to get access to the e-learning platform as assignments, quiz and exams for the semester may be conducted online.

Earlier: COVID-19: Fed Poly Nekede Adopts Virtual Learning Approach

The Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri has adopted the virtual learning education due to the coronavirus outbreak. See the notice has released by the management below.

SUBJECT: e-LEARNING VIRTUAL CLASSROOM PLATFORM

All the Academic Staff of this institution are hereby directed by the management to make use of the e-learning virtual classroom platform as a medium for the intellectual environment to lecture their students and receive academic feedback from them. Through this medium students are expected to receive and submit their assignments.

Only students who have paid and will pay their school fees would have access to the password with which to interface with their lecturers in the e-learning virtual classroom. Head of departments should, therefore, encourage their students to go and pay their school fees in order to participate in the online classes.

A step by step customized manual has been created to guide both staff and students in this academic exercise.

Staff and students are encouraged to ask questions where they encounter any problem.

All HODs should urgently develop their e-learning timetable to upload both on the website and on the different groups.

Deans and head of departments are also directed to monitor and ensure that lecturers make use of this platform effectively and regularly to educate their students.

Management on it’s part would strictly monitor how all the academic staff would comply with this directive. Any lecturer who fails to comply/ participate in the exercise would be sanctioned.

Note that this is Management’s vision to keep staff and students active during the stay-at-home as directed by the federal government in order to reduce/ eliminate the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

The exercise is also geared towards achieving Rector’s vision of digitalizing the entire polytechnic community and obtaining the optimum academic participation and performance for both staff and students.
