A viral memo created confusion when it was misinterpreted to mean that FUDutse students only need 25% to pass their courses. This false interpretation spread across social media, raising concerns about the university's academic standards.

Official Clarification from FUDutse

The university's management issued a press release stating clearly: "The interpretation is false and misleading."

FUDutse emphasized that its grading system is regulated by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and guided by Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS), just like all Nigerian universities.

The correct grade scale at Federal University Dutse is:

• 70–100: A (Excellent)
• 60–69: B (Very Good)
• 50–59: C (Good)
• 45–49: D (Fair)
• 40–44: E (Pass) - This is the official pass mark
• 0–39: F (Fail)

The actual pass mark is 40% (Grade E), not 25%.

What Does 25% Actually Mean?

The 25% refers to a highly specific "concessional pass" provision that applies only under very strict conditions:
