Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) has set a final registration deadline of August 29, 2025, for all students, warning that late registrations will attract weekly penalty fees.

What Students Must Do

All FUGUS students must complete the following before August 29:

1. Pay registration fees through the university portal or designated banks
2. Complete online course registration for the semester
3. Print course registration forms and obtain departmental approval
4. Submit all required documentation to the Academic Affairs Division

Late Registration Penalties

The university has implemented a strict penalty structure for late registration:

• Week 1 after deadline (August 30 - September 5): ₦5,000 penalty
• Week 2 after deadline (September 6 - 12): ₦10,000 penalty
• Subsequent weeks: Additional ₦5,000 per week

These penalties are in addition to regular registration fees and will be enforced without exception.

Classes Already in Session

Academic activities officially began on August 18, 2025, meaning lectures have been ongoing for over a week. Students who haven't resumed campus should do so immediately to avoid missing critical course content and announcements.

Extension Background

The university initially set a registration period from August 3-16, 2025, but extended this to August 29 to accommodate students facing genuine difficulties. However, management has indicated this is the final extension, and no further deadline changes will be granted.

Students experiencing genuine hardship preventing timely registration should contact the Dean of Student Affairs or their departmental heads immediately to explore possible solutions.
