2 min read

Summary

FULOKOJA addresses NELFUND portal glitch showing ₦5,000 late registration fee. This is a technical error—do NOT pay. Portals are being processed for reopening. Status updates for disbursed and verified students.

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA) has issued an important update addressing student concerns about NELFUND disbursement, portal issues, and course registration.

Latest Update: Portal Glitch (March 2026)

Students experiencing a system glitch where their school fees portal shows "₦5,000 for late registration" should note that this is a technical error currently being addressed by university management.

Current Processing Status

According to the NELFUND Desk Officer, the names of all NELFUND applicants are presently being processed to enable the reopening of their portals for course registration.

Important: If Your Portal Shows "Disbursed"

Do NOT make duplicate payments. The "Disbursed" status indicates your school fees have already been credited to the University Management. Making another payment would result in an overpayment.

NELFUND Disbursement Status

If Your Status Shows "Disbursed"

Funds will be released accordingly by the school. The processing is ongoing due to the large number of beneficiaries.

If You Already Paid Fees Before Disbursement

Students who paid school fees before NELFUND disbursement will receive refunds. The SUG continues to monitor this process.

If Your Status Shows "Verified"

The process is ongoing. Your fees will be handled appropriately once the status is fully reflected in the system.

Why the Delay?

The delay is due to:

  • Large number of NELFUND beneficiaries at FULOKOJA
  • Need for proper calculations and reconciliation
  • Ensuring accurate disbursement to all eligible students

What to Do

  1. Monitor your NELFUND portal status regularly
  2. Do NOT pay the ₦5,000 late registration fee if you're a NELFUND beneficiary—it's a glitch
  3. Wait for your portal to be reopened for course registration
  4. Focus on your exam preparation while the SUG works on resolving issues

The SUG continues to advocate for students and will provide updates as the situation progresses.
