FUNAAB Receives NUC Approval to Reintroduce Management Degree Programmes for 2025/2026
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially approved the reintroduction of management degree programmes at Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). This approval follows a successful Resource Assessment Visit and marks a significant milestone for the institution.
Approved Programmes
Four undergraduate degrees have been approved for the 2025/2026 academic session:
- B.Sc. Accounting
- B.Sc. Banking and Finance
- B.Sc. Business Administration
- B.Sc. Economics
Additionally, a new M.Sc. Agroecology programme has been introduced at the postgraduate level.
Programme Administration
These programmes will operate under the College of Entrepreneurial and Development Studies (COLENDS), which was renamed from the former College of Management Sciences in 2021.
Background
The management science programmes had been delisted during the 2017/2018 academic session following a federal government directive that restricted such offerings at agricultural universities. This recent NUC approval reverses that restriction specifically for FUNAAB.
What This Means for Students
Prospective students interested in management programmes can now consider FUNAAB as an option for the 2025/2026 academic session. Candidates should monitor the university's official portal and JAMB for admission updates.
