FUNAAB SUG Prohibits Drop Services During Rush Hours on Campus
The Students' Union Government of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has issued a directive prohibiting the use of "drop" services during rush hours on campus.
What Are Drop Services?
Drop services refer to the practice of hiring personal cabs or tricycles for individual transportation rather than using shared campus transport options.
Reason for the Prohibition
According to the SUG, the widespread use of drop services has created increased congestion and longer queues at transportation points, causing frustration for many students, particularly those with early morning classes.
New Guidelines
The following guidelines are now in effect:
- Students are advised to arrive at the park early to secure transportation, especially those with 9:00 AM classes
- Drop services are prohibited during peak rush hours
- The Nigeria Safety Cadet, FUNAAB command will monitor enforcement at campus junctions
Enforcement
Campus safety officials will be stationed at various junctions to ensure compliance with the new transportation guidelines. While the SUG acknowledges students' desire for convenience, they are requesting cooperation to ensure smoother transportation experiences for the entire student community.
Students are encouraged to plan their commute accordingly and use approved transportation options during busy periods.
