Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has appointed Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole as its new Vice Chancellor. The soil ecosystem specialist will assume office in February 2026 as the fifth substantive Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
About the New VC
Professor Ogunwole currently serves as the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Strategic Partnership, Research, Innovation and Linkages at FUOYE. His appointment follows a rigorous selection process that began with an advertisement period in August 2025.
Appointment Details
The Governing Council, chaired by Pro-Chancellor Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN), made the announcement on November 6, 2025. Professor Ogunwole succeeds Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, who served as the fourth Vice Chancellor.
