Practical tips for applicants (how to improve your chance)

  1. Secure the invitation letter early: Contact potential hosts (supervisors or research groups) at the listed Spanish universities with a concise email, your CV, and a short research summary showing fit with their work. Explain the Erasmus mobility objective and the proposed period.
  2. Prepare a strong CV and research summary: Highlight relevant research, publications, laboratory or field experience, and any collaboration that demonstrates you can complete a mobility placement.
  3. Passport and travel documents: Ensure your passport meets the nine-month validity requirement from September 2026. If you need a passport, start the application or renewal immediately.
  4. Academic records: Request official transcripts and degree certificates from your faculty registry early — these can take time to process.
  5. Medical and insurance considerations: Budget for travel health insurance and any required medical checks. Check visa health requirements early.
  6. Language and preparation: Check the host university language of instruction and consider short language courses if needed. Prepare a clear plan for what you will do during the mobility (tasks, expected outcomes).
  7. Round up referees: Identify academic referees who can promptly provide recommendation letters if requested by the host.
  8. Document checklist: Before printing, ensure each hard-copy set is complete and neatly organized; include a table of contents or checklist to make review easier.
  9. Support for underrepresented applicants: If you face socio-economic or health barriers, state these clearly in your application where appropriate — the programme encourages applications from such candidates.

Notes on funding & logistics

Typically, Erasmus mobility grants cover a portion of travel and living costs but do not always cover all expenses. Confirm the financial terms with the FUTA mobility coordinator and the host university once your invitation is secured. Plan financially for visa fees, accommodation deposits, and initial living expenses.

Ensure your complete application reaches the Department of Forestry and Wood Technology by 11 May 2026. Late or incomplete submissions are unlikely to be considered.

Good luck.
