FUTO Announces SIWES Defense Schedule for 2024/2025 Session

The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has released the official schedule for the Industrial Training (SIWES) Viva Defence for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Key Deadlines

All students must complete their mandatory industrial attachment by Monday, November 3, 2025. The viva defence examinations will take place from Wednesday, November 12 through Friday, November 21, 2025.

Departmental Defense Schedule

The defence sessions are distributed across various schools as follows:

• November 12: School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT)
• November 13: School of Business Studies (SOBS)
• November 14: School of Health Technology/School of Basic Medical Sciences (SOHT/SBMS)
• November 17: School of Information and Communication Technology/School of Law and International Diplomacy (SICT/SLIT)
• November 18: School of Engineering Sciences (SOES)

Important Notice

The memo, issued from the Office of the Vice Chancellor's SIWES Unit on October 27, 2025, emphasizes that officers will be mobilized to ensure compliance. Students who haven't fulfilled requirements or whose names are missing from the list should seek clearance from the SIWES Unit before proceedings begin.

All affected students are advised to take note of their respective dates and prepare adequately for their defence presentations.
