The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abubakar Abdulrasheed has disclosed that the commission will grant the Federal University of Wukari, Taraba State, permission to start a faculty of Medicine before the end of this year.
He made this known after commissioning buildings and facilities at the university on Tuesday.
He expressed satisfaction with the facilities provided by TETFUND in the university, said a team of technical experts from the NUC would soon visit the institution to inspect facilities on the ground.
According to him, a request to grant the university accreditation to run medical courses was presented by the vice-chancellor of the university, Prof Abubakar Musa Kundiri; adding that the request will be granted before the end of the year.
