GSU Academic Calendar for Postgraduate Students, 2023/2024 Session

GSU Academic Calendar: The management of the Gombe State University (GSU) has published the academic calendar for the 2022/2023 academic session.

This is to inform all School of Postgraduate Studies of the Gombe State University (GOMSU) that the school management has released the approved academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic session. The schedule events for the academic session are as follows;

FIRST SEMESTER

Monday, 4th December – Saturday, 16th December, 2023: 2 weeks registration for new and returning students

Monday, 18th December, 2023 – Monday, 1st January, 2024: 2 weeks Annual End of University wide Break

Tuesday, 2nd January – Saturday, 6th April, 2024: 13 weeks of Lectures

Monday, 8th April – Saturday, 20th April, 2024: 2 weeks Mid-Semester Break

Monday, 22nd April – Saturday, 4th May, 2024: 2 weeks of Examination

Monday, 6th May – Saturday, 25th May, 2024: 3 weeks of First Semester Break for working and approval of results

SECOND SEMESTER

Monday, 27th May – Saturday, 31st August, 2024: 13 weeks of Lectures

Monday, 2nd September – Saturday, 13th September, 2024: 2 weeks of Examination

Monday, 16th September – Saturday, 5th October, 2024: 3 weeks of Second Semester Examinations Marking and Approval of Results.

The Senate at its 88th Regular Meeting held on Thursday, 28th July 2023 considered and approved an adjustment of the 2021/2022 academic calendar for 100-level students as follows:

First Semester

Mon. 14th-Sat. 26th August 2023 – 2 weeks examinations

Mon. 28th Aug – Sat. 9th Sep 2023 – 2 weeks for marking

Mon. 11th-Sat. 23rd Sep 2023 – compilation

Mon. 25th-Sat. 30th Sep 2023 – Faculty Board meeting

Second Semester

Sun. 5th Nov. 2023 – Students’ resumption on campus

Mon. 6th Nov.- Sat. 23rd Dec. 2023 – 7 weeks lectures

Mon. 29th Dec. 2023 Sat. 6th Jan. 2024 – 2 weeks mid-semester break

Tuesday, 13th – Saturday, 24th June, 2023: Two (2) weeks registration exercise

Monday, 19th June – Saturday, 5th August, 2023: Seven weeks lectures

Monday, 9th August – Saturday, 28th October, 2023: Three (3) weeks examination

Monday, 30th October – Saturday, 4th November, 2023: One (1) week end of semester break

SECOND SEMESTER:

Sunday, 5th November, 2023: student’s resumption on campus

Monday, 6th November – Saturday, 23rd December, 2023: seven (7) weeks lectures

Monday, 19th February – Saturday, 9th March, 2024: Three (3) weeks examination

Monday 8th – Saturday, 27th April, 2024: Three (3) weeks break/leave.
