JAMB Matriculation List: How to Check and Verify Your Admission

The JAMB matriculation list is the official database of students properly admitted into Nigerian tertiary institutions through JAMB. If your name appears on this list, your admission is genuine and recognized for NYSC mobilisation.

What is the JAMB Matriculation List?

The JAMB Matriculation List contains the names of all students who have been officially admitted to accredited Nigerian institutions through the proper JAMB admission process. This list is maintained by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and is accessible through the e-Facility portal.

Why the Matriculation List Matters

• Admission verification: Confirms your admission is genuine and approved by JAMB
• NYSC eligibility: Only students on this list can participate in NYSC mobilisation
• NUC recognition: Your admission is recognized by the National Universities Commission
• Employment requirement: Many employers verify JAMB matriculation status
• Graduation validity: Required for official graduation recognition

How to Check the Matriculation List

1. Visit the official portal at efacility.jamb.gov.ng/CheckMatriculationList
2. Select your examination year
3. Enter your JAMB registration number
4. Click Search or Check
5. Your details will appear if you are on the list

Requirements to Appear on the List

To have your name on the JAMB matriculation list, you must:

• Accept admission through CAPS: Accept the offer within the stipulated period
• Print original result slip: From the e-Facility portal
• Print admission letter: Official JAMB admission letter
• Institution verification: Complete verification at your institution's admission office
• Proper admission process: Be admitted through official JAMB channels

What If Your Name Is Not on the List?

If your name does not appear on the JAMB Matriculation List:

1. Print your admission letter: Log in to JAMB e-Facility and print your official admission letter
2. Visit your institution: Take the letter to your admission office for verification
3. Contact JAMB: If admitted properly but not on the list, file a complaint at your nearest JAMB office
4. Consider regularization: Candidates admitted outside JAMB must register for JAMB Regularization

Matriculation List vs Admission List

• Admission List: Published by institutions showing candidates offered admission
• Matriculation List: JAMB's official database of properly admitted students
• Key difference: You can be on an institution's admission list but not on JAMB's matriculation list if proper procedures were not followed

JAMB Regularization

If you were admitted without going through JAMB (through pre-degree, foundation, or other programmes), you need JAMB Regularization to appear on the matriculation list. This process validates your admission and makes you eligible for NYSC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I do NYSC if my name is not on the matriculation list?

No. NYSC requires your name to be on the JAMB matriculation list. If absent, you must resolve this with JAMB or through regularization before mobilisation.

How long does it take for my name to appear after admission?

After accepting your admission through CAPS and completing institutional verification, your name should appear within the current admission cycle. Check periodically.

Is the matriculation list the same as the university admission list?

No. The university admission list shows who the institution admitted, while the JAMB matriculation list shows admissions officially recorded and approved by JAMB.
