Second Term Resumption Dates Announced

The Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced resumption dates for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session. Different dates apply for boarding and day students across the state.

Resumption Schedule

Boarding Students

Resumption Date: Sunday, December 28, 2025

All students in boarding secondary schools across Katsina State must resume on this date.

Day Students

Resumption Date: Saturday, January 11, 2026

Students attending day schools will resume for the second term on this date.

End-of-Term Examinations

Exam Start Date: Monday, December 29, 2025 (for boarding students)

First term examinations will commence immediately after resumption for boarding school students.

Critical: WASSCE 2026 Registration

For SSS III Students

Registration Period: December 28-31, 2025
Type: Offline WASSCE registration
Mandatory Attendance: All SSS III students must participate

⚠️ Important Warning

Students who fail to complete WASSCE registration during this period risk repeating their current grade. The registration window is very short (4 days only), making attendance critical.

What Parents and Guardians Should Know

For Boarding School Parents

• Prepare your child to resume on Sunday, December 28
• Pack all necessary items before the resumption date
• Ensure school fees are paid
• SSS III students must be available for WASSCE registration (Dec 28-31)

For Day School Parents

• Your child resumes January 11, 2026
• No need to resume during the December period
• Prepare for the second term opening

Instructions for School Administrators

• Prepare for boarding students' arrival on December 28
• Organize end-of-term examinations starting December 29
• Coordinate WASSCE offline registration for SSS III (Dec 28-31)
• Ensure all facilities are ready before resumption

Important Notes

• Boarding schools include Unity Secondary School Malumfashi and others across Katsina State
• Day students get an extended break until January 11
• SSS III students have a very narrow window for WASSCE registration
• Non-compliance with registration requirements may affect graduation
