Kwara Poly Reduces Miscellaneous Fees After SUG Intervention

Kwara State Polytechnic has reduced its miscellaneous (infrastructure) fees following discussions between the Students' Union Government and polytechnic management.

What Changed

The infrastructure fee, commonly referred to as miscellaneous fee, has been reduced. The adjustment is now reflected on the Polytechnic's payment portal as of October 16, 2025.

Refund for Affected Students

Students who already paid the higher amount before the reduction will receive refunds. Details on the refund process will be communicated separately by the institution.

SUG Advocacy

The Students' Union Government presented counterarguments to management's justification for the fee increment, citing current economic conditions affecting students. This advocacy led to the reduction.

What Students Should Do

1. Check the Polytechnic portal to view the new fee structure
2. If you paid the higher amount, await refund instructions
3. Contact the Bursary department if you have questions about your payment status

Important Note

The reduction is already effective and visible on the portal. Students yet to pay should verify the current fees before making payments.
