MTN MUSON Music Scholars Programme 2026/2027: How to Apply

Applications are open for the MTN MUSON Music Scholars Programme for the 2026/2027 academic year. MTN Foundation and the Musical Society of Nigeria offer the fully funded programme to talented young Nigerians seeking professional music training.

Application deadline

Applications close on August 23, 2026. MUSON says only eligible applicants will be shortlisted and notified by Wednesday, August 26, 2026, for examinations, auditions and interviews.

Who can apply?

• Nigerian applicants aged 18 to 35.
• Applicants with GCE Ordinary Level or SSCE credits in at least five subjects, including English Language, obtained in no more than two sittings.
• Applicants with Grade 5 or higher in both music theory and practical from MUSON or another recognised examining body such as ABRSM or Trinity College London.
• Applicants with a valid JAMB result. MUSON lists this as a requirement for the current admission cycle.

About the programme

The scholarship supports a full-time, two-year Diploma in Music. Available majors include piano, organ, violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, classical guitar and voice.

3. Complete the application before the deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
