NECO 2025 GCE Registration Now Open: Deadline November 18, Late Fee ₦35,000
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially opened registration for the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External, also known as GCE. If you missed the June/July NECO or need to upgrade your O'Level results, here's everything you need to know about registering for the November/December GCE.
Registration Period
- Regular Registration: July 7 - November 18, 2025 (midnight)
- Late Registration: November 19-25, 2025 (additional ₦5,000 penalty)
Examination Period
Exam Dates: November 26 - December 13, 2025
Registration Fees
- Regular Fee: ₦30,000 (includes mathematical table and certificate folder)
- Late Registration: ₦35,000 (₦30,000 + ₦5,000 penalty)
Exam Format
Computer-Based Examination (CBE) for all sixteen subjects
Required Documents
National Identification Number (NIN)
Mandatory: You must provide a valid NIN to register. If you don't have one:
- Visit NIMC enrollment center
- Complete NIN registration
- Obtain your NIN before attempting NECO registration
Passport Photograph
- Background: White background only
- Recency: Not older than six months
- Format: Professional passport-style photo
- Size: Standard passport size
Biometric Registration
Critical Security Measure: Biometric fingerprints will be captured during offline registration and verified during the actual examination.
Warning: Mismatched fingerprints result in automatic disqualification. This means:
- You must register personally (no proxy registration)
- The person registered must be the one writing the exam
- Exam malpractice through impersonation is impossible

How to Register

- Click "GCE Registration" or "External SSCE Registration"
- Create registration account or log in
- Fill in personal information (name, DOB, gender, state)
- Provide your NIN (National Identification Number)
- Select your subjects (minimum 5, maximum 9)
- Upload passport photograph (white background, recent)
- Choose examination center preferences
- Pay ₦30,000 registration fee online
- Submit registration
- Print registration slip
- Visit designated center for biometric capture
