NELFUND Closes 2024/2025 Student Loan Application Portal on September 30

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced that the application portal for the 2024/2025 academic session will officially close on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. This marks the conclusion of the second complete cycle of the student loan scheme.

• New Portal Opening: Mid-October 2025

What Happens to Unverified Applications?

All applications that remain unverified by institutions after October 8, 2025, will be automatically cancelled. Students whose applications are cancelled will need to reapply once their schools update their records for the upcoming cycle.

If you have a pending NELFUND application, ensure that:

• Your application status is verified before September 30
• Your institution has updated your records on the Student Verification System (SVS)
• You follow up with your school's student affairs office if verification is pending

The NELFUND portal will reopen in mid-October 2025 for the 2025/2026 academic session and will remain open until January 2026. Schools that haven't started their academic sessions within the stated timeframe should notify NELFUND for special accommodations.
