NYSC adjusts orientation dates for 2026 Batch A Stream II (Enugu & Osun)

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has revised the Orientation Exercise schedule for prospective corps members deployed to Enugu and Osun states. The adjustment is due to extensive renovation work at the state camps.

• Enugu & Osun: Tuesday, 28 April 2026 – Monday, 18 May 2026
• All other states & the FCT: Wednesday, 22 April 2026 – Tuesday, 12 May 2026

Affected prospective corps members should note the changed dates and plan travel and logistics accordingly.

What you should do now

• Confirm your state of deployment and the details on your call-up letter with your institution's NYSC desk or the state NYSC office.
• Adjust travel plans so you arrive in your state of deployment ahead of the revised commencement date.
• If the new dates create a conflict (medical, employment, or academic), contact your institution's NYSC desk or the NYSC state secretariat for guidance on available options.

Practical checklist for orientation camp

• Documents: Printed call-up letter, original academic certificate/statement of result, valid government ID, NIN details, and any proof of name change or marriage certificate. Keep photocopies of all originals.
• Banking/BVN: Have your Bank Verification Number (BVN) and account details handy for any verification required at camp.
• Health: Bring essential medication, a brief record of pre-existing medical conditions, and inform camp medical staff on arrival.
• Clothing & toiletries: Towels, basic clothing, comfortable shoes, toiletries, and a small first-aid kit. Pack light but be prepared for basic camp conditions.
• Money & contacts: Some cash for initial expenses, emergency contact numbers, and next-of-kin information.
• Electronics: Phone, charger and a power bank. Avoid bringing expensive or irreplaceable items to camp.

On arrival

• Report early to the state NYSC office or the designated orientation camp on the specified date and follow registration instructions.
• Present original documents for verification and submit photocopies where required.
• Observe camp rules, security guidelines and health protocols throughout the orientation period.
