Three student union leaders of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State (OAU), have been suspended by the school authorities for allegedly assaulting a professor.
The affected student leaders as gathered are; the SU President, Omotayo Akande, who bagged six semesters (three years); Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojedokun, four semesters (two years); and the Secretary General, Seun Oketooto; four semesters (two years).
The union leaders are all final year students and would have started their examinations in the next two months.
The students however have a different reason for the suspension, saying their leaders were suspended due to the recent agitation for better welfare conditions on campus and not the alleged assault.
