OOU ASUU Chapter Embark On Indefinite Strike Action

Non-payment of Salaries leads to Indefinite Strike Action by the ASUU Chapter in Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU)

Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) chapter  has reportedly embark on an indefinite strike action due to inability of the state government to fulfill the promises regarding a Memorandum of Understanding it signed with the union in December 2015 as well as non-payment of their July salaries.

The decision to embark on a strike action was arrived at after the unions congress held at the institution’s permanent campus in Ago-Iwoye on Monday.

According to the union, the state government has abandoned its responsibility to the institution by not honouring the 70:30 ratios contribution by the state Government and OOU management in payment of salaries.
