Eligibility and Further Information
The scholarship programme is available to students from Africa, Asia and Latin America interested in development policy and who have come to Austria upon their own initiative in order to complete their education here.
With their decision to study abroad, students have proven a high level of assertiveness, creativity and mobility. Student support schemes make a contribution to honour the right to education also for those who, as critical and intellectual young people, find bad conditions in their home countries.
These aspects apply to an even larger extent to women. In this regard, the study support scheme offers the possibility of counter-balancing ethical, religious, social and regional disadvantages and even violation of human rights in individual cases. The forms of scholarships are subdivided into:
1. Scholarships to promote students in diploma/master studies (application in Austria)
2. Scholarships to promote students in doctoral studies (application in Austria).
Through co-op programmes – like the organization of workshops and seminaries with regard to return and reintegration, job perspectives and applications as well as respective consultant talks, the project objective of successful job reintegration in the country of origin is substantially strengthened.
The scholarship programme is conceived as a holistic programme comprising the fields of scholarships, co-op measures and tutoring, co-op education and follow-up contacts.
The scholarship programme is co-financed by the Province of Styria, the City of Graz as well as from church and private means.
