UBA Foundation National Essay Competition 2025: Win Up to ₦10 Million
The UBA Foundation has launched its 2025 National Essay Competition, offering Nigerian senior secondary school students the opportunity to win educational grants worth millions of naira.
Essay Topic
This year's essay topic challenges students to think critically about national unity:
"Nigeria is characterised by diverse cultures, ethnicities, and religions. How can young Nigerians deploy diversity to build a united nation?"
Students are expected to reflect on Nigeria's multicultural landscape and propose practical ways to foster unity and progress through diversity.
Prize Structure
The competition offers substantial educational grants for the top three winners:
- Winner: ₦10,000,000 educational grant
- First Runner-up: ₦7,500,000 educational grant
- Second Runner-up: ₦5,000,000 educational grant
All top three winners will receive grants to pursue higher education at any African university of their choice. Additional consolation prizes will be awarded to other outstanding participants.
Eligibility Requirements
To participate, candidates must:
- Be a Nigerian senior secondary school student
- Complete the official application form
- Submit a handwritten essay (maximum 750 words)
- Upload a recent passport photograph
- Provide a scanned copy of valid identification (Birth Certificate, National ID, or International Passport)
