UEE Affiliate Graduates Await UNICAL Certificates Before NYSC Mobilisation

1 min read

Summary

UEE says UNICAL remains responsible for certificates issued under the former affiliation arrangement and that efforts continue before the next NYSC mobilisation portal opens.

The University of Education and Entrepreneurship (UEE), Akamkpa, has clarified responsibility for certificates owed to graduates of its former affiliate degree programmes.

Who Issues the Certificates?

Before UEE became a full university, the institution operated as the Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa, and ran degree programmes through an affiliation with the University of Calabar (UNICAL). Under that arrangement, UNICAL remained the degree-awarding institution responsible for approving results and producing degree certificates.

UEE says it has forwarded the academic results and records of qualified affiliate graduates to UNICAL and has completed the responsibilities assigned to it under the affiliation arrangement. The university says it is continuing to engage UNICAL over the delayed certificates.

Why the Delay Matters

Affected graduates are concerned that the outstanding certificates may affect participation in the next NYSC mobilisation exercise. UEE says the issue also affects graduates from other institutions affiliated with UNICAL and is being treated as a broader administrative problem.

Graduates should keep their academic records, monitor official UEE and UNICAL notices, and avoid relying on unverified claims about certificate collection or NYSC eligibility.
