Who is eligible?

Educational qualification

Five (5) credit passes in WASSCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB or GCE O‑Level (at not more than two sittings). The five subjects must include:

• English Language
• Mathematics
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology

Professional qualification & experience

• Must be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
• Minimum of one (1) year post‑registration clinical/working experience in the relevant specialty.

Course duration & accommodation

Duration: 12 calendar months, commencing November 2026.

Accommodation: Limited availability on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Arrange alternative accommodation plans early if needed.

Application fee and payment

Application fee: Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) non‑refundable. Dollar equivalent for foreign applicants.

Payment method: Fee is payable through the Remita payment platform. During payment you will obtain a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number — keep this RRR handy; it is required to complete the online application form.

Typical Remita steps (summary):

1. Open the Remita payment platform (use your browser to access Remita).
2. Select the appropriate payment channel (for federal/state TSA where required).
3. Choose the recipient as University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital and the service/purpose as UITH GENERAL PURPOSE (or the option shown for PBN application fee).
4. Complete payer details and make payment; note the RRR generated after payment.

After payment, use the RRR to proceed with the online application (see Application steps below).

How to apply (online) — checklist and practical steps

1. Pay the application fee via Remita and note your RRR number.
2. Go to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital online application interface (search for the UITH PBN application on the hospital website) and click the link to begin the PBN application.
3. Provide a valid personal e‑mail address during registration — a confirmation link will be sent to that e‑mail. Use an e‑mail you can access immediately to confirm and continue the process.
4. After e‑mail confirmation, log in and fill the online PBN application form. You will be required to enter the RRR to verify payment.
5. Upload required files in the specified formats (jpeg, png, jpg) and sizes where requested, including scanned documents described below.
6. Submit the form and wait briefly for the system to generate a printable/downloadable copy of your completed form. If you do not see a printout, your submission did not complete — you must refile and resubmit.
7. Print the online submission and bring it on the day of any examination/interview when requested.

Documents & uploads to prepare

• Proof of payment (RRR) and payment receipt details.
• Scanned copies of O‑Level certificates (WASSCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB) showing required subjects and credits.
• Current NMCN registration certificate.
• Evidence of at least 1 year post‑registration clinical experience (letter from employer or service records).
• Three typed and scanned referees' recommendation letters on referees' letterhead (jpeg/png/jpg).
• Scanned signature of sponsor in jpeg/png/jpg format (where sponsor details are required).
• Passport photograph and any other documents specified on the online form.

Notes: Ensure all uploaded files are clear, legible and meet the format/size limits on the application portal. Use a stable internet connection when submitting to avoid incomplete submissions.

Closing date & selection

Application deadline: All completed application forms must reach the College Secretary's office at the Schools Complex, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, P.M.B. 1459, Ilorin on or before 31 July 2026.

Selection/interview: Date for written examination and oral interview will be communicated by the College when scheduled. Monitor the e‑mail you used for application and official UITH communications for updates.

Important reminders & tips

• Use a valid and regularly checked e‑mail address during registration — the confirmation link is sent immediately after registration.
• Keep the RRR and payment proof safe; you will not be able to proceed without the RRR after making the Remita payment.
• If you do not get a printable confirmation after submission, recheck your inputs and resubmit immediately — system will not register an incomplete form.
• Prepare your referees early and request their letters on headed paper so you can upload them before the deadline.
• Accommodation is limited — secure accommodation early or plan daily commute options if you do not get campus housing.
• Ensure your NMCN registration is current and verifiable before applying.
