What is the UNIABUJA Degree Upgrade Programme?
The Conversion Degree Programme is designed specifically for candidates who want to convert their HND certificates to bachelor's degrees or upgrade their third-class or pass degrees to better classifications. This programme is offered through the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education (CDL&CE).
Available Upgrade Programmes
The university offers degree upgrade options across seven faculties, covering diverse fields including:

Who Can Apply?
HND Holders
You need a minimum of Lower Credit in your HND from a recognized polytechnic, plus five O'Level credit passes (including English Language and Mathematics) obtained in not more than two sittings.
Degree Holders
If you have a bachelor's degree with a pass classification in a related discipline, you can apply to upgrade to a better degree classification.
NCE Holders
NCE certificate holders with a minimum of 10 points, plus five O'Level credit passes including English and Mathematics, can also apply.
Application Process
Step 1: JAMB Registration
First, process your application through JAMB's e-platform and select University of Abuja as your institution of choice.
Step 2: UNIABUJA Portal Application
- Visit the CDL&CE portal at www.cdluia.edu.ng
- Create an account and complete the online application form
- Generate your REMITA payment invoice
- Pay the non-refundable application fee of ₦20,000
- Upload all required documents (HND/Degree certificate, O'Level results, etc.)
- Submit your application before the deadline
