What's Closed

During the break period, the university will be closed for all academic and administrative activities. This includes:

  • Lectures and examinations
  • Administrative offices
  • Regular campus operations

Essential Services Continue

However, staff in essential services are exempted from the closure and will continue operations during the break. Essential services include:

  • Safety Unit (Security services)
  • Health Services (Medical center)
  • Works & Services (Maintenance)
  • Other critical departments and units

For Students and Staff

Students: Plan your travel arrangements accordingly. The university resumes full academic activities on January 5, 2026.

Staff: Administrative staff should complete pending work before December 17. Essential service staff should report as scheduled.

Official Announcement

The directive was issued by Sambo Mohammed, Acting Registrar, on behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Council, Senate, and Management of the University of Abuja.

Students and staff are advised to make necessary arrangements for the holiday period and ensure they return on time for the January 5 resumption.
