UNIABUJA Institute of Education Extends Sandwich Postgraduate Application Deadline

The University of Abuja Institute of Education has extended the application deadline for 2025 Contact Session Sandwich and Part-Time postgraduate programs.

Form sales now close on May 30, 2025, giving prospective students additional time to apply.

Available Programs

The Institute offers multiple Master of Education (MEd) specializations designed for working education professionals.

Sandwich Programs (24 months):

• MEd Curriculum Studies
• MEd Educational Administration and Planning
• MEd Guidance and Counselling
• MEd Social Studies Education

Part-Time Programs (30 months):

• MEd Educational Psychology
• MEd Language Education
• MEd Science Education
• Postgraduate Diploma in Education (18 months)

Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess five O'Level credits including English Language and Mathematics from WAEC, NECO, or equivalent examinations.

For MEd programs, you need either a relevant education bachelor's degree with Second Class Lower Division Honours minimum, or any first degree combined with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) qualification.

The PGDE pathway allows non-education graduates to pursue education-focused master's programs after completing the diploma.

Visit portal.uniabuja.edu.ng to access the application system. Complete the online form and pay the ₦25,000 application fee through the portal's payment integration.

Upload all required credentials during the application process. Ensure transcripts, degree certificates, and O'Level results are clear and legible.

Sandwich vs Part-Time Programs

Sandwich programs concentrate intensive instruction during vacation periods, allowing teachers to study while maintaining employment during school terms. The 24-month duration accommodates two vacation cycles.
