The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has published its 2025/2026 academic session calendar for full-time undergraduate programmes. The schedule covers clearance, registration, lectures, examinations, semester breaks and the processing of results.

First semester dates

• Online clearance and registration for newly admitted students: November 10, 2025
• Freshers move into halls of residence: November 16, 2025
• Course registration: November 20, 2025 to January 5, 2026
• Returning students move into halls: November 23, 2025
• Lectures begin: November 24, 2025
• Orientation for new students: January 26, 2026
• Matriculation: January 28, 2026
• Lectures end: March 6, 2026
• Revision week: March 9–13, 2026
• Faculty examinations: March 16–20, 2026
• CED examinations: March 21, 2026
• Other faculties, schools and institutes examinations: March 23–April 2, 2026
• GST examinations: April 3–4, 2026
• First-semester break: from April 5, 2026, for two weeks

Second semester dates

• Students return to hostels: April 19, 2026
• Lectures begin: April 20, 2026
• Second-semester lectures end: July 31, 2026
• Revision week: August 3–7, 2026
• Faculty examinations: August 10–14, 2026
• CED examinations: August 15, 2026
• Other faculties, schools and institutes examinations: August 17–27, 2026
• GST examinations: August 28–29, 2026
• End-of-session holiday: from August 30, 2026, for four weeks

Result processing and new-student clearance

• Departmental boards consider results and release provisional results: September 14–18, 2026
• Faculty boards consider results: September 21–25, 2026
• Senate considers results for graduating students: September 28–30, 2026
• Business committees consider results and release lower-level results: October 5–9, 2026
• Online clearance and registration for newly admitted students: October 5, 2026
