UNICAL Post UTME / DE Form and Screening, 2024/2025 (UPDATED)

University of Calabar (UNICAL) Post UTME screening for the 2023/2024 session has been announced – See registration details below.

Applications are invited from all candidates who scored 140 and above in the Joint Admissions & Matriculation Examination and who have chosen University of Calabar as their First Choice in their application for admission into the University for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Cut-off mark is 140. The application cost is ₦2000. The application deadline is Tuesday the 20th day of August 2024.

Eligibility Criteria for UNICAL Post UTME

The following categories of JAMB UTME candidates are eligible to apply:

a. Candidates who selected the University of Calabar as their first choice in the 2024/2025 JAMB UTME and choose any of the programmes listed Below and scored a minimum of 140.

b. Interested candidates who did not choose University of Calabar as their first choice but wish to study in the University of Calabar and scored a minimum of 140 in the 2024/2025 JAMB UTME.

Candidates in 1(b) above, must do a Change of Institution to the University of Calabar via JAMB website (http://www.jamb.org.ng) and choose any of the programmes listed in 10 below.

How To Apply for UNICAL Post-UTME Screening

i. E-Transact: This option is available in all commercial banks nationwide. At the bank your are required to pay and obtain an E-transact PIN. With the PIN log into the portal http://www.myunical.edu.ng and click on the UTME Admission Screening link then follow the instructions on the portal after login.

ii. Post UTME PIN option: This option gives access to purchase Post-UTME pin from the portal. Click Buy Post-UTME Pin Online to purchase the Post-UTME pin online. Login using TRANSACTION ID as the PIN into the portal.

On obtaining the print out from the bank or online, proceed as follows:

1. LOG ON TO http://www.myunical.edu.ng and 2. click on the UTME Admission Screening link

On the home page, enter your correct JAMB Registration Number in the box provided

3. Enter the CONFIRMATION ORDER NUMBER or TRANSACTION ID in the box provided

4. Click on login and follow the online instructions.

5. Confirm your entries and CLICK ON SUBMIT

Print out the completed form.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:

The deadline for submission of application is Tuesday the 20th day of August 2024.

DATE OF POST-UTME EXERCISE:

The date for the Post-UTME Screening Exercise would take place on Monday, 26th August, 2024 to Saturday, 31st August, 2024. 

ITEMS FOR SCREENING TEST:

a. Candidates are to bring the following for the screening test:

I. POST-UTME Screening Schedule Printout

II. 2024/2025 JAMB UTME Result Slip

b. DO NOT bring the following items into the screening test hall:

1. Mathematical tables

2. Calculators

3. Smart phones & Smart-watches

4. Bags of any kind

DISQUALIFICATION OF CANDIDATES WHO MAKE FALSE DECLARATION OF UTME SCORES, ORDINARY LEVEL RESULT GRADES (WAEC, NECO OR NABTEB) AS WELL AS STATE OF ORIGIN SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION.

The University of Calabar, fondly called ‘UNICAL’ by students and staffs was established in 1975 by the Federal Military Government of Nigeria. It was Initially a Calabar campus of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, but ceased to be a campus after its pronouncement as a Federal University. University of Calabar Admission Requirements For Undergraduates

Pre-degree/ 100 level students:

  • As a prospective candidate, you must have credit passes in at least five (5) SSCE/NECO/ O’level subjects including English, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects at no more than two sittings.

  • You are also required to register, sit for and attain the prescribed JAMB cut-off mark for your preferred course. Then you can be eligible to write the entrance examination (Post-UTME).

200 level (Direct entry-level students):

  • In addition to having the above requirements, you may also be required to;

  • Have a National Diploma, which should come from a recognized institution in Nigeria. Applicants may also be required to have a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) in a subject(s) related to the proposed field of study with a minimum of one unit and two (2) passes.
