The University of Lagos will hold its 56th Convocation Ceremonies from January 14-25, 2026, with the main congregation events taking place January 20-22. All graduating students must complete registration and payment requirements before the ceremonies.
Convocation Schedule
Week 1: Preparation Events
- January 14: Press Conference (10:00 a.m.) and Rehearsal (4:00 p.m.)
- January 15-16: Additional rehearsals for graduating students
Week 2: Main Ceremonies
Day One – Monday, January 20, 2026:
- First degrees: Education, Social Sciences, Communication & Media Studies, Arts, and Science faculties
Day Two – Tuesday, January 21, 2026:
- First degrees: Engineering, Law, Management Sciences, and Health-related programmes
Day Three – Wednesday, January 22, 2026:
- Postgraduate degrees (Master's and PhD awards)
January 23, 2026: Long Service Awards and Convocation Play
Graduate Registration Requirements
Mandatory Steps
- Register online via email link sent to graduating students
- Registration Deadline: December 30, 2025
- Pay convocation fees
- Payment Deadline: January 13, 2026
- Obtain academic regalia (gown, hood, cap)
- Submit payment receipt to your faculty office

- Hire: ₦15,000
Doctorate (PhD):
- Purchase: ₦65,000 (hire not available)

Critical Instructions for Graduates
⚠️ Punctuality Requirement
Graduating students must arrive punctually at their allotted ceremony time. Doors will be closed immediately when the programme commences. Late arrivals will not be admitted.
Invitation Collection
- Collect your convocation invitations from designated faculty offices
- Invitations are required for guest entry
- Limited guest tickets per graduate
Certificate Collection
- Certificates will be available for collection after the ceremonies
- Warning: Uncollected certificates incur ₦10,000 annual storage fees
- Collect your certificate promptly to avoid additional charges
