UNILAG Notice: Post-UTME Candidates Placed in Alternative Courses Must Respond Within 24 Hours
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has issued an important notice to candidates who did not meet the cut-off marks for their original course choices during the 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise. A number of these applicants have been offered placement in alternative courses.
What Happened
According to the university management, "a few applicants who did not meet the cut off marks for their original choice of courses/programmes have been placed into new courses/programmes." These placements are being processed through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
Critical 24-Hour Deadline
Affected candidates have a very tight window to respond. The university has set a 24-hour deadline from Monday, October 27, 2025 for candidates to either accept or reject their new course placement.
What You Must Do
- Log in to your JAMB CAPS account immediately
- Check if you have been offered an alternative course
- Review the new programme to determine if you want to proceed
- Click ACCEPT or REJECT based on your decision
- Complete the action before the deadline expires
Consequences of Inaction
The university has warned that failure to respond within the stipulated timeframe will result in automatic forfeiture of admission. There will be no extensions granted.
Advice for Affected Candidates
Mrs. V. Abosede Wickliffe, Registrar and Secretary to Council, has advised all candidates to "check their CAPS regularly and respond promptly" to avoid losing their admission opportunity at UNILAG.
If you applied to UNILAG and have not been admitted to your first-choice course, check your CAPS account immediately—you may have an alternative offer waiting.
