UNIUYO Christmas and New Year Break 2025/2026: Dates and Schedule

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) Students' Union Government has announced the official Christmas and New Year break schedule for the 2025/2026 academic session through its Directorate of Information and Public Relations.

Christmas Break Schedule

According to the announcement signed by Godwin Patrick, Director of Information and Public Relations, all academic and administrative activities at the University of Uyo will close by 12 noon on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

The university will observe the following closure dates:

• Thursday, December 25, 2025 - Christmas Day
• Friday, December 26, 2025 - Boxing Day

Resumption Date: All activities resume on Monday, December 29, 2025.

New Year Break Schedule

The university will also observe the New Year holiday:

• Thursday, January 1, 2026 - New Year's Day (observed)

Resumption Date: Academic and administrative activities resume on Friday, January 2, 2026.

Unlike many Nigerian universities that typically announce extended Christmas breaks spanning several weeks, UNIUYO's announcement indicates a brief holiday period with classes resuming shortly after Christmas and New Year celebrations.
