UNIZIK Implements Mandatory Fingerprint Registration for All Students

Nnamdi Azikiwe University is conducting mandatory fingerprint data capture for all students from May 26 through June 25, 2025.

The biometric system will control access to campus facilities and academic services including CBT examinations.

Registration Schedule by Faculty

Students must attend on designated days based on their faculty:

Monday: Agricultural Sciences, Arts, Pharmaceutical Sciences

Tuesday: Biosciences, Environmental Sciences

Wednesday: Health Sciences, Education, Law

Thursday: Technology, Vocational Education, Medical Lab Sciences, Engineering

Friday: Management Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Medicine

Registration Venues

Three locations operate simultaneously:

• Awka Campus: MICTU Software Factory, Nnewi Otofia Fragani Building
• NAUTH Campus: E-Library
• Agulu Campus: Faculty Building

Choose the venue on your campus. Registration runs daily from 9:00 a.m.

Critical Preparation

Ensure your hands are completely clean and free from substances including oil, ink, or lotion. Residues interfere with fingerprint scanner accuracy and could cause registration failures.

Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before proceeding to the registration point. Dry completely before fingerprint capture.

Strict Compliance Required

Attend on your designated faculty day. Latecomers or students who miss their scheduled days risk being denied CBT examination access when the fingerprint authentication system activates.

The university emphasized that fingerprint authentication will become mandatory for accessing CBT exams. Without registered biometrics, you cannot take computer-based tests regardless of your course registration status.

Universities implement fingerprint authentication to prevent examination impersonation, secure facility access, and maintain accurate attendance records.

The system ensures that only properly enrolled students access examination halls, libraries, and other restricted university facilities.

Troubleshooting

If your fingerprints don't capture properly due to worn fingerprints from manual labor or other causes, inform the registration staff immediately. They can implement alternative verification methods for affected students.

Don't delay registration thinking you can complete it later. The June 25 deadline is firm, and last-minute registration attempts may encounter long queues or system unavailability.
