UNN postgraduate orientation holds March 31 to April 1, 2026. Day 1 is in-person at departments, Day 2 is virtual. Mandatory for all fresh PG students.

The University of Nigeria has announced a mandatory orientation programme for all fresh postgraduate students admitted for the 2025/2026 academic session. The two-day event covers both Nsukka and Enugu campuses.

Day 1: Departmental & Faculty Orientation (March 31, 2026)

Morning Session: Departmental Orientation (9:00 AM – 10:25 AM)

  • Welcome addresses from the Head of Department and Postgraduate Coordinator
  • Question and answer session
  • Tour of departmental facilities from 10:25 AM

Afternoon Session: Faculty Orientation (2:00 PM – 3:25 PM)

  • Addresses from the Dean of Faculty and senior academics
  • Question and answer session
  • Library and research facilities tour from 3:25 PM

Day 2: General Online Orientation (April 1, 2026)

The virtual session runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and features:

  • Vice-Chancellor's address
  • Keynote lecture on Artificial Intelligence Tools in Postgraduate Research
  • Sessions on entrepreneurship, library resources, ICT tools, student welfare, and self-care
  • Final Q&A and closing

Important Notes

  • Participation is mandatory for all fresh postgraduate students
  • The programme covers both Nsukka and Enugu campuses
  • Authorised by Professor Obioma U. Njoku, Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies

Newly admitted UNN postgraduate students should mark both dates and attend all sessions. The Day 2 virtual session link will be communicated through official channels.
