UPTH Post-Basic Nursing Admission 2026/2027: Requirements, Fee and Exam Date

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital School of Nursing Sciences has opened admission into its Post-Basic Nursing programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The programmes run for 12 calendar months and cover Paediatric Nursing and Accident and Emergency Nursing.

Available Programmes

• Post-Basic Diploma in Paediatric Nursing
• Post-Basic Diploma in Accident and Emergency Nursing

Admission Requirements

• SSCE with five credits in not more than two sittings.
• Required subjects are English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
• A WAEC and NECO combination is accepted.
• Applicant must be a registered nurse or midwife.
• At least one year of post-qualification experience is required.
• A B.NSc with PGDE is an added advantage.

Application Fee and Form

Applicants should pay a non-refundable fee of ₦20,000 through the School Remita platform for UPTH College of Nursing Sciences.

After payment, present the teller to the College Bursar to receive an official receipt. Use the payment evidence and receipt to obtain the application form from the Registrar's office, College of Nursing Sciences.

Deadline and Entrance Exam

• Application deadline: Friday, September 11, 2026
• Entrance examination: Wednesday, September 18, 2026
• Venue: College Auditorium
• Time: 10:00 AM prompt

Applicants should bring original certificates and valid practising licences for the interview on the same day.
