WAEC GCE Result: How to Check Your CB-WASSCE Results Online

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2026 First Series Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for private candidates.

The examination was held between January 28 and February 14, 2026 across 166 centres nationwide. Marking took place from February 26 to March 13, 2026, at centres in Lagos, Enugu, and Kaduna.

2026 First Series Performance Statistics

  • Registered candidates: 10,523 (11.49% increase from 9,438 in 2025)
  • Candidates who sat: 10,480
  • Gender distribution: 48.72% male (5,106) | 51.28% female (5,374)
  • 5+ credits including English & Maths: 3,429 candidates (32.72%)
  • Improvement: 5.76% increase from 26.96% in 2025 first series
  • Results fully processed: 8,418 candidates (80.32%)
  • Pending (candidate errors): 2,062 candidates
  • Withheld (malpractice): 75 candidates (0.72%)
  • Special needs candidates: 43 (11 visually impaired, 4 hearing impaired, 4 albinos)

How to Check WAEC GCE Result Online

  1. Visit the WAEC result checking portal at www.waecdirect.org
  2. Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number
  3. Select 2026 as the examination year
  4. Select examination type: PRIVATE CANDIDATES
  5. Enter the PIN and Serial Number from your scratch card
  6. Click Submit

Note: Results and digital certificates are available for 12 hours after first access.

Certificate Collection

Digital certificates are released alongside results. Candidates can also apply for hard copies through the WAEC Certificate Request Portal at certrequest.waec.ng.

Withheld Results

If your result has been withheld due to suspected examination malpractice, you can lodge a complaint through the WAEC portal at waecinternational.org/complaints.

Candidates with pending subject results due to errors are advised to contact WAEC directly for resolution.
